Jamaat-e-Islami Announces Nationwide Protests Against Fuel Price Hike

In a resolute response to the recent surge in petroleum prices orchestrated by the caretaker government, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief, Siraj-ul-Haq, has declared a series of nationwide protests across all four provinces. This development comes as a firm denouncement of the government’s decision, which has significantly burdened the lives of ordinary citizens, all while seemingly aligning with the directives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Addressing the public via a video message on Twitter, JI’s leader emphasized the severe hardships the common man is enduring due to the government’s compliance with IMF policies. He firmly asserted that the people’s voices must be heard and their concerns addressed.

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has been actively protesting against the steep increase in electricity tariffs, and now, Siraj-ul-Haq is extending their efforts to tackle the soaring prices of petroleum products. He has called upon the citizens to stand in solidarity with JI and join the protests outside all four governor houses across the nation.

Notably, the caretaker government has raised the price of petrol by an astonishing Rs. 26.02 per litre, further straining the wallets of the populace. In addition, the cost of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has surged by Rs. 17.34 per litre. As a result, the new prices stand at Rs. 331.38 per litre for petrol and Rs. 329.18 per litre for High-Speed Diesel (HSD).
