K-Electric Announces Maintenance Shutdown in Karachi on May 15, 2026 — Check Your Area

K-Electric (KE) has announced a scheduled maintenance shutdown across several parts of Karachi on Friday, May 15, 2026, as part of its ongoing system improvement and infrastructure maintenance program. The temporary suspension of electricity supply will affect multiple feeders at different times throughout the day.

The official shutdown plan states that each power outage will be several hours long in different areas in order to allow essential maintenance work to be performed for the purpose of making the grid more reliable and less susceptible to future failures.

Areas and Timings Affected

The electricity supply to Al-Madina Godhra Colony, Alpha Brothers, Al-Watan, Buffer Zone Pump, Degesh Feeder, Global City, Khyber Chowk, M.K. Builder, Red Rose, Shaikh Zaid and Sidra City (Ex PSO Mardan) will be suspended from 8:59am till 5:59pm.

The residents and businesses in Gohar Green City, Harmain Builders, MES-105, New Kumharwara, Pink Park RMU, Combined Garrison, Dubai Mall 2000 RMU, Rest House and Tulip Tower will experience power outages between 9:00am and 6:00pm.

There will be no electricity in other places like Bajwa House RMU, Prince Ali, Sarhad Re-Rolling, Hurriat Nagar and Sun Rise Avenue Phase-7 Extension between 9:59am and 5:59pm.

KE also added that the S/S-9 street on Kh-e-Azeem and the Saffron Engineering will be affected by outages from 7:59am to 5:58pm and 5:59pm, respectively, while the Spectrum feeder will experience the longest outage from 7:01am to 5:56pm.

Moreover, Grind Wheel and Lubna Farm feeder will be out of power until 5:29pm, while Shaharyar clinic feeder, the outage will be limited up to 12:59pm.

Advisory for Residents

K-Electric has urged residents and commercial consumers of the impacted regions to make relevant arrangements ahead of time, such as storing water, having backup power arrangements in place and planning of activities during outage hours.

The company noted that these maintenance operations are crucial in enhancing the stability of the system, lowering fault incidents and ensuring long-term performance of electricity distribution.
