K-Electric Announces No Load Shedding Where the Temperature Feels Like 45°C 

KARACHI: In Karachi, K-Electric has announced that if the “feels like” temperature in any area reaches 45°C, there will be no load shedding in that locality.

K-Electric’s Head of Distribution Operations, Khurram Abdullah, stated that due to the ongoing heatwave, the company has suspended maintenance shutdowns. He added that load shedding will be avoided in areas where the perceived temperature touches 45°C.

Meanwhile, sea breezes have remained suspended in Karachi, and the weather is expected to stay extremely hot today.

According to the Meteorological Department, the city is likely to experience hot and dry conditions over the next 24 hours.

On Monday, the highest temperatures were recorded in Turbat and Mithi at 45°C. Karachi, Sukkur, Sibi, Lasbela, and Thatta recorded 44°C, while Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur recorded 40°C. Lahore recorded 37°C, Islamabad and Quetta 34°C, and Peshawar 33°C.
