Karachi Brace for Heatwave: Meteorological Department Issues Warning

Karachi and various regions of Sindh are on high alert as the Meteorological Department predicts a significant surge in temperatures, heralding the arrival of a blistering heatwave. Commencing today and extending through April 9, residents advised to prepare for scorching weather conditions.

According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, the heatwave expected to intensify across the province, impacting cities like Sukkur, Ghotki, Larkana, and Nawabshah. Temperatures in these areas could skyrocket to a blistering 41 degrees Celsius, creating challenging conditions for outdoor activities and daily routines.

Even in Karachi, the coastal metropolis of Sindh, and other lower-lying regions, temperatures anticipated to climb up to 38 degrees Celsius. This sharp increase in heat raises concerns for public health and safety, emphasizing the importance of staying hydrated and taking necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.

Furthermore, residents in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Balochistan, and multiple cities across Sindh advised to remain vigilant as dusty and polluted air may exacerbate the already challenging weather conditions.

Yesterday, Karachi experienced a prelude to the impending heatwave, recording a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius. This serves as a stark reminder of the sweltering days ahead and underscores the urgency for individuals to stay informed and prepared during this period of heightened heat.
