Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that inclusion of Karachi Coastal Zone in CPEC is a game changer.
Appreciating the efforts of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Prime Minister Imran Khan termed the inclusion of Karachi Comprehensive Coastal Development Zone (KCCDZ) zone in the (CPEC) as a game changer for the city.
PM made the remarks after the CPEC’s Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) approved a 3.5 billion plan.
He hopes it will help clean up marine housing for fishermen, build low-income housing units and create investment opportunities.
The PM said that this project would make Karachi equal to developed ports. He commended the Ministry of Maritime Affairs for this initiative.
However, development on an area of ??about 6,640 hectares on the western backwater marshland of Karachi port, KCCDZ will be an important project not only for Pakistan but for the entire region.
The eco-friendly Mega KCCDZ envisions four new vessels for KPT, adding depth to Pakistan’s growing maritime sector.
