Karachi Flour Price Reduced to Rs130 Per Kg as Administration Announces Relief for Citizens

In a major relief for consumers struggling with rising inflation, the Karachi administration has reduced the flour price in Karachi, lowering the ex-mill rate from Rs133 per kilogram to Rs130 per kilogram.

The move was made in a meeting headed by Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi convened on the instructions of Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Asif Hyder Shah. The Chief Minister’s Inspection Team, flour mill owners, Food Department officials, and other stakeholders attended the meeting.

Karachi Flour Price Cut After Review of Wheat Supply

Officials have checked the availability of the wheat, flour production, supply and price in the city before authorising the price cut in the flour price in Karachi.

Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi said the increased availability of wheat in interior Sindh to Karachi has provided space for a cut in the prices of flour. He stated that the ex-mill flour price may further cut down in the coming weeks to approximately Rs125 per kg, if the supply chain continues to improve.

Authorities Warn Against Hoarding and Profiteering

The Karachi administration has again emphasized the availability of flour in the city. Authorities also warned that strict measures would be taken against persons involved in creating artificial scarcity and the imposition of excessive prices.

With the latest price cut for atta in Karachi, the relief is expected to be felt by the families, who are grappling with soaring food prices, while the officials have expressed their hope that the supply of wheat will improve, resulting in more price decreases.

The Karachi flour price has been reduced to Rs130 per kg, with authorities hinting at a further drop to Rs125 per kg if wheat supplies continue to improve. The administration has also pledged strict action against hoarding and profiteering to ensure affordable flour remains available for consumers.
