In a bid to maintain traffic flow and restore order in the city, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab has announced a weekly anti-encroachment operation to be conducted by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).
The operation, which will commence in key areas such as Saddar, Lighthouse, MA Jinnah Road, Bolton Market, II Chandrigar Road, Numaish Chowrangi, Empress Market, and Kharadar, aims to remove encroachments from cabins, stalls, carts, and shops on the road. This move is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and improve the overall commuting experience in Karachi.
According to Mayor Wahab, the anti-encroachment operations will continue throughout the week without discrimination, with a focus on South, District East, and then District Central. Senior Director Imran Rajput will supervise the operation to ensure its success.
