Karachi Starts E-Challan for Lane Violations on Shahrah-e-Faisal from Today

In a major step towards improving traffic management and road safety, the Karachi Traffic Police has launched an e-challan system for lane violations on Shahrah-e-Faisal from today.

According to a Traffic Police spokesperson, motorists are required to strictly follow lane discipline while driving on one of Karachi’s busiest roads. To avoid penalties, motorcycles, cars, buses, and other vehicles need to stay in their assigned lanes.

The Traffic Police said an awareness campaign had already been held to educate the public on the new enforcement policy. The authorities asked that people behave responsibly and abide by traffic laws to ensure the smooth movement of traffic in the city.

According to officials, in the first stage, lane violation e-challan in Karachi will only be implemented on Shahrah-e-Faisal. But plans are underway to extend the system to other major roads and highways in Karachi in the near future.

Traffic management officials hope the program will help decongest traffic, increase roadway discipline and decrease the likelihood of accidents resulting from careless lane changes and poor driving habits.

The launch of the Karachi e-challan system falls under the umbrella of modernizing traffic enforcement methods with technology and promoting responsible driving behavior among commuters.

Citizens are encouraged to help make roads safer in Karachi by obeying lane markings and traffic rules to prevent getting tickets.
