Karachi Street Crime: 6780 Incidents Reported During Ramadan

Street crime in Karachi has remained a pressing concern for residents, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. Recent data from the police department reveals a worrying trend.
Throughout Ramadan, there were a total of 6780 reported street crimes, including thefts, robberies, and snatching incidents. This includes 20 vehicle thefts, over 130 burglaries, and a staggering 830 motorcycles stolen. Additionally, there were more than 4200 cases of robbery reported during this period.
Mobile phone snatching also saw a significant uptick, with approximately 1600 incidents reported in Karachi alone.
These numbers highlight the persistent challenges faced by the city in combating street crime, urging authorities to take decisive actions to ensure the safety and security of Karachi’s residents, especially during this auspicious month of Ramadan.
