Residents of Karachi can expect hot and dry weather to persist over the next 24 hours as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts continued high temperatures across Sindh.
The current weather forecast for Karachi shows that conditions will be mostly hot and dry with dusty winds in coastal areas. The PMD has issued a warning of very hot weather in the upper and central districts of Sindh with normal temperatures.
The Met Office has said that hot and dry weather will continue to dominate most parts of Pakistan and very hot weather will continue in plain areas. Isolated rain-wind or thundershowers are expected in the upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas in the afternoon.
Although no significant rainfall is forecast, sea breeze variations and dusty winds over coastal belts will affect outdoor activities in Karachi. People are urged to avoid unnecessary sun exposure in the harsh midday heat and to drink plenty of water to avoid heat-related illnesses.
Weather experts advise precautionary measures in the wake of high temperatures across Sindh, particularly for children, elderly and those working in the outdoor areas.
The PMD will keep tracking the weather and update as required if there are any changes that could be critical in the forecast.
