The Meteorological Department has issued a storm warning for several coastal cities in the Sindh region of Pakistan. From today until 17th June, areas including Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Tharparkar, and Umarkot are expected to face heavy rainfall and strong winds as a result of an approaching storm. This weather event poses potential risks and requires residents to stay vigilant and prepared.

In a recent announcement, the Meteorological Department has alerted residents of coastal cities in Sindh to brace themselves for severe weather conditions. From today until 17th June, an approaching storm is expected to bring heavy rainfall and strong winds to several areas, including Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Tharparkar, and Umarkot.

The storm’s impact is also anticipated in Karachi and Hyderabad, where gusty winds and torrential downpours are likely to prevail from 14th to 16th June. These weather conditions can cause disruptions and necessitate precautionary measures.

In response to the storm alert, local authorities have implemented necessary safety measures. In Karachi, specific roads, such as CV Road and Ittehad Road, have been temporarily closed to ensure public safety. Additionally, restrictions have been imposed on accessing the coastline, preventing any potential risks to beachgoers. Fishermen are also advised to avoid venturing into the sea until the storm subsides.

Furthermore, the Sindh Building Control Authority has identified 578 buildings across the region as dilapidated and hazardous. To mitigate potential dangers, evacuation notices have been issued, urging residents to vacate these buildings until they are deemed safe.

During the storm, it is essential to remain cautious as waves are projected to reach heights of 8 to 12 feet. This poses risks to coastal areas and emphasizes the need for individuals to prioritize their safety and stay away from the shoreline.
