The initiative includes free shuttle services from Annu Bhai Park to Jinnah Women’s College, marking a significant step towards improving public transport accessibility. The federal government has committed to providing 300 buses under the PSDP project, valued at Rs. 18 billion, to support this endeavor.

Memon also addressed the delays in the Red Line BRT project, attributing them to the previous government’s negligence. However, he assured that concerted efforts are underway to expedite the project for the public’s benefit.

In addition to the intra-city developments, Memon announced the Sindh government’s plans to launch an inter-city bus service under the Inter-District Transport Project. This project involves procuring 500 buses to facilitate convenient public transport between cities.

Progress on the Yellow Line bus service is also gaining momentum, with the expectation that the public will soon reap its benefits. The service will cover routes from Karachi to Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas to Hyderabad, Larkana to Sukkur, and Larkana to Qambar Shahdadkot.

The meeting saw the participation of key stakeholders, including Secretary Transport Asad Zaman, MD Sindh Mass Transit Authority Kamal Dayo, Deputy Commissioner Trans Karachi Shumaila Mohsin, officials from Red Line, Orange Line, Yellow Line, and international consultants.
