Pakistan marks Kashmir Solidarity Day on 5 February 2026 with a nationwide public holiday. The State Bank of Pakistan confirmed all banks will remain closed. Offices and schools will shut down across the country. Citizens will observe a one-minute silence at 10:00 AM to honor martyrs.
The federal government and the State Bank of Pakistan have finalized all arrangements for the 5 February holiday. If you have banking tasks, you must complete them today.
The State Bank of Pakistan issued a clear circular to all commercial banks and financial institutions. Every branch in the country will stay closed tomorrow for Kashmir Solidarity Day. This closure includes the Pakistan Stock Exchange and all public sector offices. You can still use ATMs and mobile banking apps for urgent transfers.
The nation observes 5 Feb to show unity with the people of Kashmir. At 10:00 AM sharp, all traffic and activity will stop for one minute of silence. This tradition honors the sacrifices of martyrs. Rallies and seminars will take place in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi.
Schools and universities have already sent out closure notices. In Sindh and Punjab, this creates a long break due to local festivals. Normal business will resume on Friday, February 6. Keep your travel plans flexible as major roads might host processions.
