Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has announced higher police salaries and increased financial support for families of officers killed or injured on duty. The revised package raises compensation for martyred personnel to Rs. 35 million and replaces residential plots with cash assistance of up to Rs. 70 million.
Kundi announced the measures on October 16 as part of a revised welfare package for KP police personnel and their families. He also directed officials to speed up recruitment against 17,000 vacant police posts. The exact salary increase and revised pay scales have not yet been publicly specified.

The government has also increased compensation for personnel injured on duty. Assistance for severe injuries has risen from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 1.5 million, while compensation for permanent disability has increased from Rs. 500,000 to Rs. 5 million.
Cash Assistance to Replace Residential Plots
Under the revised housing scheme, families will receive cash instead of residential plots, allowing them to choose where to buy a home or land
| Eligible Family | Cash Assistance |
| Constables and head constables | Rs. 18 million |
| ASIs, sub-inspectors and inspectors | Rs. 25 million |
| DSPs and ASPs | Rs. 30 million |
| SPs, SSPs and higher-ranking officers | Rs. 70 million |
The package also provides Rs. 5 million if a serving police officer’s spouse or child dies, and Rs. 3 million if a parent or sibling dies.
Kundi announced a Rs. 1 million marriage grant for each daughter of a martyred officer. He also directed officials to establish educational support for martyrs’ children, including opportunities to study abroad.
The measures expand financial and family support for police personnel as the provincial force faces ongoing security challenges and a reported shortage of staff.
