Lahore to Get New Public Transport with 300 Electric Buses

In a significant move towards sustainable urban transit, the Punjab government has unveiled plans to introduce 300 electric buses in Lahore. The announcement made by the Senior Provincial Minister, during a comprehensive review meeting of the Chief Minister’s 33 special projects.

The meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, highlighted the government’s commitment to eco-friendly transportation. The introduction of electric buses in Lahore is a part of this green initiative. Furthermore, an additional 330 electric buses set to hit the roads in other cities across Punjab, marking a significant shift towards sustainable urban mobility.

The meeting also shed light on several key initiatives. The first phase of construction and renovation of rural and basic health centers slated for completion by October. Major hospitals expected to complete their vaccination drives by June.

In terms of infrastructure, expressways on key routes will constructed with an investment of Rs. 176 billion. These developments underscore the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for its citizens.

In line with the directives of CM Maryam Nawaz, a dedicated complaint number for all departments will established. This move aims to enhance public services and ensure prompt redressal of grievances.

Moreover, the air ambulance service will be operational by June, while the Motorway Ambulance service will commence operations by December. These initiatives reflect the government’s focus on enhancing emergency healthcare services.
