A Vital Step in Alleviating Gas Shortages – Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited Rolls Out RLNG Connections in Over 100 Private Housing Societies
In a strategic move to address the ongoing gas shortage, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has commenced the installation of domestic gas connections based on Re-Gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) in various regions. Recognizing the imperative need for action due to depleting local gas reserves, SNGPL has introduced new RLNG connections in more than 100 private housing societies.
Responding to the long-standing demand for new connections, SNGPL has leveraged IT systems to generate specially prepared lists, facilitating the efficient provision of RLNG-based gas connections in private housing societies.
The RLNG network has been established in over 100 private housing societies, promising residents a phased rollout of new connections. This approach ensures a systematic and equitable distribution of RLNG connections.
The application of new RLNG connections adheres to the policy set by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), focusing on extensions or blocks within private housing societies.
This initiative aligns with recent recommendations presented to the Secretary Petroleum, gaining approval as part of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). The inclusion of laying the RLNG network in private housing societies demonstrates the government’s commitment to proactive measures.
Top officials at SNGPL have directed all concerned authorities to allocate necessary resources, including meters and service line materials. This meticulous planning ensures a smooth and efficient revival of domestic gas connections.
