The National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) has taken a proactive step in response to the severe weather conditions currently affecting Pakistan, announcing the closure of several key motorways across the country.
Effective immediately, the M2 motorway will be inaccessible to all traffic from Thokar Niaz Baig to Farooqabad. Additionally, heavy traffic will be restricted from Farooqabad to Kot Momin, ensuring safety amidst the challenging weather.
Meanwhile, commuters relying on the M3 motorway advised of complete closure from Faizpur to Samundri, with partial closure from Faizpur to Jaranwala. These measures implemented to mitigate risks and safeguard travelers during the adverse weather period.
Similarly, the NH&MP has implemented closures along the M4 motorway, prohibiting commuting from Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad and heavy traffic from Abdul Hakeem to Pindi Bhattian. These temporary closures are essential for ensuring the safety and well-being of all road users.
In light of these developments, the motorway police urge individuals to refrain from unnecessary travel, prioritizing safety above all else. Moreover, motorists strongly advised to explore alternative routes and plan their journeys diligently until normal weather conditions prevail, allowing for the resumption of regular traffic flow.
By prioritizing safety and providing timely updates, the NH&MP demonstrates its commitment to ensuring the well-being of commuters while effectively managing the challenges posed by extreme weather conditions.
