In the latest political development in Sindh, Justice (retired) Maqbool Baqar, the former interim Chief Minister, is tipped to take over the gubernatorial reins from Kamran Khan Tessori. Justice Baqar’s potential appointment as the new governor is noteworthy, given his extensive experience in public service. His tenure as the interim Chief Minister of Sindh, from August 17, 2023, to February 27, 2024, was marked by the successful conduct of the general elections.
Before his stint as the interim Chief Minister, Justice Baqar had a distinguished judicial career. He served as a Supreme Court judge from 2015 to 2022 and held the position of Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court from 2013 to 2015. His judicial journey in the Sindh High Court began in 2002, spanning over a decade.
