In a significant political development, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has expressed its strong desire to forge an alliance with the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) – PML-N – ahead of the upcoming elections.
Sources privy to the matter have revealed that MQM is keen on uniting forces with PML-N in the province of Punjab, citing the rationale of a collective front formed by various factions within MQM. This move is seen as a strategic maneuver aimed at consolidating their political strength in the region.
MQM insiders have disclosed that they are fully prepared and committed to the idea of unity, awaiting a final decision from the PML-N leadership.
It is worth noting that during the tenure of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government, PML-N demonstrated a stronger inclination towards cooperation as compared to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Consequently, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) in Sindh is emphasizing an alliance with the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) in the forthcoming elections.
