The Muharram 2021 moon is now sighted in Pakistan and Day of Ashura will be observed on August 19 (Thursday). The Islamic New Year 1443 AH also began with the Muharram 2021 moon sighting in Pakistan.
Molana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman, presided over the meeting that took place at the DC office in Quetta. Pakistan Meteorological Department officials and representatives from Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Zonal & Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committees attended the meeting.
There was a good chance of Muharram 2021 moon sighting in Pakistan as per the astronomical parameters.
