Multan Lawyers Beat Accused in 15-Year-Old Waseem Abbas Murder Case

Lawyers slapped and punched a man accused of killing a 15-year-old boy with his car during a court appearance in Multan on Tuesday. The incident followed the boy’s death in Royal Orchard, where police say the suspect chased him after he left work.

Lawyers assaulted the accused, identified in police reports as Tauqeer Nazir, when police brought him before a court in Multan. They reportedly slapped and punched him and tore his clothes. Police personnel intervened and took him away from the crowd.

The court approved a police request for four days of physical remand to investigate the case. Police registered a murder case on their own complaint and seized the vehicle involved in the incident.

What Happened to Waseem Abbas?

Police say Waseem Abbas was learning electrical work under Nazir. The teenager, who came from Muzaffargarh, had lived at an orphanage for about six years. Orphanage administrator Jawad Haider said the facility had sent him to learn the trade.

According to the initial police account, Waseem left work without informing the suspect. Nazir claimed he followed the boy to stop him from leaving. Police say Nazir and another man, Amjad Ali, first pursued Waseem on foot and then followed him in a car.

The car struck Waseem during the chase. He hit the gate of a nearby house and died at the scene. CCTV footage reportedly showed the teenager running before the car hit him. The suspect has claimed he was trying to stop the boy, while investigators are examining the circumstances and intent behind the incident.

Waseem’s cousin, Nadeem, said the boy often did not want to continue learning the work and wanted to return home. Police say they are continuing the investigation to establish the full circumstances and determine the responsibility of everyone involved.
