NADRA Announces 4 Special Facilities for Senior Citizens Aged 60 and Above

ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced four special facilities for senior citizens aged 60 and above.

NADRA provides various facilities for senior citizens to make it easier for them to obtain identity documents and access its services.

According to an awareness message shared by NADRA, dedicated priority counters have been established for senior citizens at all NADRA offices across the country. These counters allow elderly citizens to receive services more conveniently than through regular counters.

Home-Based Services for Senior Citizens with Mobility Issues

According to NADRA, the Mobile Registration Van service is also available for senior citizens who are unable to visit NADRA offices due to old age or physical weakness.

Through this service, eligible senior citizens can access NADRA services from the comfort of their homes, saving them the trouble of travelling to an office.

Facial Recognition for Faded Fingerprints

NADRA has also introduced a facility to assist senior citizens with biometric verification. As people age, their fingerprints may become faint, making it difficult to verify their identities through traditional fingerprint scanning.

In such cases, NADRA states that facial recognition can be used as an alternative method of identity verification, making the process easier for elderly citizens.

Lifetime Validity of Identity Cards for People Aged 60 and Above

Another important facility offered by NADRA is a lifetime-valid identity card for senior citizens. According to NADRA, identity cards issued to individuals after they reach the age of 60 remain valid for life and do not require renewal.

NADRA has advised senior citizens to contact their nearest NADRA centre regarding their identity documents and to learn more about the facilities available to them.
