In a recent development, Pakistan’s Supreme Court, under the leadership of Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, has mandated the sale of Nasla Tower’s land. This decision aims to provide compensation to the allottees affected by the tower’s issues.
The court heard the case concerning the compensation for Nasla Tower’s affectees. Advocate Shahab Sarki, representing the affectees, revealed that the tower’s builder had passed away. Despite the court’s previous order to compensate 44 affectees, they have yet to receive any payment.
The Supreme Court has instructed the affectees to present their ownership documents to the official assignee. Furthermore, the court has directed the submission of a report detailing Nasla Tower’s plot market value. An advertisement for the land sale has also been ordered.
The court has expressed that any bid received in the auction should be reported back to them. The Advocate General has informed the court about the land’s transfer taken by the Commissioner.
Advocate Shahab Sarki argued that the court had previously ordered the compensation payment to the affectees by selling the plot. He suggested that the 240-yard plot adjacent to Nasla Tower should also be sold, and the proceeds should be given to the affectees.
The court has issued notices to the Sindhi Muslim Cooperative Society, seeking a comprehensive report on the plot next to Nasla Tower. Additionally, the Supreme Court has requested details about the deceased builder’s heirs.
