The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Wednesday decided to shift winter vacations to January for educational institutions.
According to sources familiar with the matter, all provincial education ministers backed the new proposal.
However, schools, colleges and universities will remain closed in cold areas where heavy snowfall takes place
The vaccination process will carry on in educational institutions, as per schedule though.
The Government of Sindh had already announced winter vacations from December 20, 2021 to January 3, 2022.
On the other hand, all provinces and textbook boards were directed to publish the cabinet-approved political map of the country in the textbooks.
“Before this, different maps were being published in different provinces,” an official statement said.
Earlier, Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood had suggested winter vacations from Dec 25 to Jan 4. He, however, had pointed out that the final decision will be taken by the NCOC.
