Mayor Karachi and Chairman Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, emphasized the collective responsibility of citizens and political entities in a bid to enhance the city’s development. Addressing political and religious factions, he called for unity to contribute to the betterment of Karachi.
Mayor Wahab revealed a major step in enhancing the city’s drainage system with the procurement of 38 advanced jetting and suction machines. The collaboration among the Sindh Government, World Bank, and Karachi Water Sewerage Services Improvement facilitated this crucial development.
The newly introduced machines poised to revolutionize Karachi’s drainage infrastructure, a crucial aspect highlighted in the city’s developmental manifesto. With the population soaring, the administration committed to addressing water supply and drainage challenges, allocating resources for sustained improvement.
40 advanced water management machines, costing 901 million rupees, represent a joint effort by the Sindh Government, World Bank, and KWSC Services Improvement. The Water Corporation CEO thanked Mayor Karachi, noting the initiative’s positive impact on the city’s water management.
Mayor Wahab emphasized the collective effort in obtaining these machines, enhancing Karachi’s water management infrastructure. The initial phase introduced 40 machines, and the subsequent phase included 14 jetting and 14 suction machines.
This development marks a pivotal moment for Karachi, signifying a united effort to address pressing issues and usher in an era of improved city infrastructure.
