No One Wheeling Allowed on New Year’s Eve: Strict Actions to Be Taken

In a bid to ensure a safer and more controlled environment on the roads of the provincial capital, the Lahore Traffic Police has meticulously prepared for a comprehensive crackdown on one-wheeling enthusiasts before the New Year’s Eve festivities.

Leading the charge, Chief Traffic Officer Ammara Athar has issued a stern directive to register cases against individuals caught engaging in the dangerous act of one-wheeling. Not stopping there, the crackdown will also target those who facilitate such activities, promising stringent action against all violators.

A spokesperson for the department revealed that an extensive network of special checkpoints has been strategically set up at 90 key locations across the city to effectively curb one-wheeling and address other traffic violations. This strategic move aims to create a deterrent effect and ensure the safety of both riders and pedestrians during the upcoming celebrations.

Heading the operational front, seasoned officers SP Sohail Fazil, SP Shahzad Khan, and SP Akramullah will oversee the crackdown, ensuring its efficiency and effectiveness. Additional personnel will be deployed and specifically tasked with monitoring motorcyclists at crucial locations, including Main Boulevard Gulberg, Allama Iqbal Road, Main Boulevard DHA, The Mall, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Canal Road, and GT Road.

These enhanced measures underscore the Lahore Traffic Police’s commitment to fostering a secure and enjoyable environment for all residents and visitors during the New Year celebrations. With a watchful eye on key thoroughfares, the city gears up to bid farewell to the year responsibly and safely.
