Only Rs. 100 for 4 Acres! Maryam Nawaz Announces Land, Cash Assistance for Farmers

The Punjab government has launched a major initiative for landless farmers by announcing the distribution of agricultural land under the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar Scheme. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz revealed that 30,000 deserving and landless families will receive 4 acres of agricultural land each on an annual lease of just Rs. 100, aiming to improve rural livelihoods and strengthen Pakistan’s agricultural sector.
121,000 Acres to Be Distributed Across Punjab
The new scheme regarding agriculture under the Punjab government will provide 121,000 acres of government land to eligible agriculture beneficiaries throughout the province. The land will leased for 20 years, which will enable farmers to set up agriculture on the land and earn sustainable income.
The project aims to help low-income households that are not landowners, but are capable of participating in the production of food and the economy of rural areas.
Rs. 200,000 Financial Assistance for Farmers
The Punjab government will also give Rs. 200,000 in financial assistance to each beneficiary. The amount will enable the farmers to prepare the land, buy seeds and inputs for farming and start the cultivation without any pressure of finances.
The government considers that this financial support will help the new farmers to become self-reliant and do the agricultural production.
Land Distribution Based on Merit
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar Scheme has put in place in a transparent manner. Selection of beneficiaries has done purely on merit and has not recommended by any political party or outside influence,” she added.
The program aims at uplifting the condition of the poor and landless families and reinvigorating the dignity of the agriculture field, the chief minister said.
Allotment Letters Within One Week
The Punjab government has also set a definite timeframe for implementing the plan. Successful applicants will notified with allotment letters within 1 week and possession of the land will given out by 31st July.
The scheme will directly impact 30,000 households, and one of the biggest land distribution programs launched by the provincial government.
Punjab Government Aims to Strengthen Agriculture
Maryam Nawaz said agriculture was the backbone of Pakistan’s economy and emphasized on the significance of the initiative. She reiterated the Punjab government’s commitment towards enhancing farmers’ livelihoods, boosting agricultural production, and providing job opportunities in the rural areas.
She further announce that any additional cultivable government land identified across Punjab will also distributed to deserving landless families in phases under future expansions of the scheme.
