Pakistan Receives Rs 215 Billion in Foreign Loans and Grants in July

ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan borrowed Rs215 billion during July, the first month of the ongoing financial year, according to official documents.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs documents show that the government received Rs210 billion in loans and Rs5 billion in grants during the month.

Around Rs120 billion was secured through budgetary support and short-term financing, while approximately Rs95 billion was obtained for project funding.

Pakistan also secured $763 million in foreign loans during July, up $68.5 million compared with the same month last year.

According to the data, the government secured a substantial amount of external financial resources from various sources at the beginning of the fiscal year. These funds will be used to meet budgetary requirements, finance development projects, and fulfill other financial obligations.
