Pakistan’s Extended-Range Fatah-IV Passes Test, New Range Undisclosed

Pakistan successfully test-launched an extended-range version of the locally developed Fatah-IV ground-launched cruise missile on October 6, 2026, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

Missile Upgrades and Test Details

ISPR said the missile uses advanced flight electronics and navigation aids to strike targets at longer distances with high precision and lethality.

The launch validated additional technical parameters of subsystems intended to improve accuracy and survivability. Senior Pakistan Army officers witnessed the test alongside scientists and engineers from the developing agency.

The military did not disclose the extended version’s range.

Leadership Response and Earlier Launches

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, army chief and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and the service chiefs praised the successful test and the development team.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also congratulated the nation and praised the scientists and engineers involved.

The Army Rocket Force Command conducted an earlier Fatah-IV test this year. A training launch on September 30, 2025, had a reported range of 750 kilometers.
