Pakistan’s Principled Position on Palestine and Its EmergingDiplomatic Role

Pakistan’s position on the Palestine issue has always remained firmly
anchored in principles of international law, justice and the resolutions of the
United Nations Security Council.
Pakistan has consistently supported the
legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and has maintained an unwavering
commitment to the establishment of an independent, sovereign and viable
Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds Al Sharif as its
capital. This principled stance reflects Pakistan’s enduring foreign policy
approach that prioritizes legality, morality and the collective conscience of the
international community over temporary geopolitical pressures.

Pakistan has repeatedly emphasized that durable peace in the Middle East
cannot be achieved without a just resolution of the Palestine issue.

Successive Pakistani governments, regardless of political orientation, have
maintained continuity in supporting Palestinian self-determination and
opposing illegal occupation, settlement expansion and violations of
international humanitarian law. Pakistan’s diplomatic voice has consistently
resonated in international forums, including the United Nations and the
Organization of Islamic Cooperation, where it has advocated for
accountability, peaceful conflict resolution and respect for internationally
recognized rights.

The ongoing tensions and conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran
have further highlighted the importance of states adopting balanced and
principled diplomatic positions.
Pakistan’s conduct during the current crisis
has reinforced its image as a responsible regional actor that promotes
restraint, dialogue and peaceful settlement of disputes. Rather than pursuing
adventurism or bloc politics, Pakistan has emphasized de-escalation, regional
stability and adherence to international law. This measured approach has
strengthened the credibility of Pakistan’s diplomatic posture and
demonstrated the consistency of its foreign policy principles across different
regional crises.

Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic engagement during the present regional
conflict has also enhanced its stature within the Muslim Ummah.
As many
Muslim countries seek balanced leadership capable of advocating peace while
safeguarding legitimate rights, Pakistan has emerged as a prominent and
credible voice. Its efforts aimed at mediation, diplomatic outreach and
reduction of regional tensions have been widely acknowledged as reflective
of a mature and responsible state committed to regional and global peace.
Pakistan’s rising diplomatic relevance provides it with greater moral and
political space to advocate for a just solution to the Palestine issue. The
country’s credibility stems from its consistent reliance on peaceful means,
diplomacy, and international legality rather than coercion or unilateralism.
Pakistan is well-positioned to use its enhanced diplomatic standing to
mobilize international opinion, strengthen Muslim unity on Palestine and
encourage meaningful engagement toward a fair and lasting settlement that
guarantees the rights, dignity, and security of the Palestinian people.

Pakistan will continue to pursue all diplomatic and peaceful avenues in
support of Palestine while contributing positively to regional and global
peace efforts.
Its commitment to justice, international law, and collective
security remains central to its foreign policy outlook. At a time of increasing
polarization and conflict in the international system, Pakistan’s principled and
balanced approach offers a credible pathway for constructive diplomacy and
reinforces its role as a responsible member of the international community
and a leading voice within the Muslim world.
