The federal government has announced a significant reduction in petroleum product prices, providing major relief to the public amid rising inflation in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed that the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs74 per litre, while high-speed diesel has been cut by Rs67 per litre.
According to the new pricing structure, the petrol price in Pakistan has dropped from Rs373 per litre to Rs299 per litre, whereas the diesel price has been reduced from Rs378 per litre to Rs311 per litre.
The announcement is being seen as a major step towards easing transportation costs, reducing inflationary pressure, and supporting the common man, as fuel prices directly impact food and daily commodity rates across the country.
Economists suggest that the reduction in petroleum prices may also help stabilize market trends and lower logistics costs in the coming days.
The government has stated that the decision was taken in line with global oil price movements and economic adjustments to provide relief to the masses.
