Petrol Shortage in Lahore: Fuel Crisis Fears Grow as Oil Companies Warn of Low Stocks

Concerns over a petrol shortage in Lahore are growing after several filling stations reportedly ran out of regular petrol, forcing many motorists to search for fuel at multiple pumps. The crisis has brought inconvenience to commuters, and oil companies have alerted the government to a possible supply disruption that could affect the country as a whole if no action is taken soon.

Reports indicate that a shortage of regular petrol is being experienced at several petrol pumps in Lahore. A number of consumers stated that they were told by pump employees that petrol was not stocked, and instead they should buy high-grade fuel. This unplanned deficiency has sparked uncertainty for drivers and the potential of further deterioration if supplies are not restored soon.

The OMCs have also warned the government that Pakistan presently has 15-day petrol stocks left. They warned that the supply of Motor Spirit (MS) petrol may be disrupted in various regions of the country if appropriate action is not taken in time.

The companies demanded immediate steps from the government to improve fuel availability and to ensure smooth fuel supply chain. They highlighted that the delay in the matter can lead to the escalation of petrol shortage in Pakistan which will impact transportation and daily commuting.

The government has taken no official stance on the fuel shortage in the city so far, but the rumours of the shortfall have sparked worries among the general public in Lahore. Panic buying should be avoided and motorists are urged to keep calm while awaiting official updates from the relevant authorities.
