Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced additional flights to northern areas to promote tourism. The national airline will introduce new flights from Islamabad to Chitral starting May 18, with two weekly flights operating on this route.
Additionally, PIA will launch direct flights from Dubai to Skardu starting April 29, with flights operating every Friday from Dubai and every Sunday from Skardu. This move aims to attract tourists from around the world to the stunning northern regions of Pakistan.
This development comes after PIA’s previous efforts to increase flights to northern areas in 2022, which allowed tourists to book tickets in advance and avoid missing out on the opportunity during holidays.
The airline is also preparing to resume flight operations to Europe, anticipating the lifting of the ban by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) next month. PIA plans to make Paris its hub for Europe flights, according to sources.
This expansion of flight operations is expected to boost tourism in Pakistan’s northern areas, known for their breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
