PIA Recruitment Drive: Apply by September 25th

PIA Announces Recruitment for 210 Vacant Positions

In a bid to address staff shortages in various departments, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has issued advertisements for 210 vacant positions, marking a significant move for the national carrier. This recruitment drive comes after the Supreme Court granted permission for the hiring of staff on a one-year extendable contract basis, following a five-year hiatus.

Applicants are invited to submit their applications by September 25th, with PIA seeking suitable candidates for a range of roles, including pilots, cabin crew, and IT professionals.

For the 10 Air Traffic Controller (ATC) positions, candidates must possess intermediate qualifications and relevant professional skills. Additionally, the 40 cabin crew positions require a minimum educational qualification of graduation.

PIA hopes that these new hires will contribute to improving its overall operational efficiency and performance.

Government Takes Steps to Provide Financial Relief to PIA

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been grappling with severe financial difficulties, primarily stemming from heavy loans and interest payments. The national carrier recently reported a loss of PKR 64 billion during the first six months of the current year, significantly higher than the PKR 5.43 billion loss reported in the previous year.

To address these financial challenges, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has initiated discussions on PIA’s financial crisis and its long-term sustainability. During the meeting, the Ministry of Aviation presented a restructuring plan that included timelines and cost assessments.

According to a PIA spokesperson, the government’s collaboration with banks and the issuance of funds will help improve the airline’s financial balance. It is expected that the required funds will be made available to the airline in the coming week.

These developments signal a concerted effort by the government to stabilize and revitalize Pakistan’s national carrier, PIA, ensuring its continued service to the nation.
