Karachi police on Tuesday registered a case against builders and officials responsible for the construction of the Nasla Tower.

Sindh Building Control Authority, Sindhi Muslim Cooperative Housing Society and other civic agencies have been named in the first information report.

There are no specific names in the FIR so far. The case has been filed under Section 34, 161, 167, 218, 408, 409, 420 and 447 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had directed authorities to take action against the officials responsible for issuing construction permits for the building.

The court also ordered the police to register a separate case against government officials responsible.
