PTI Long March Reaches Karak as Sohail Afridi Leads Convoy

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march reached Karak on Sunday night after starting from Lakki Marwat. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is leading the march, which is demanding the release of PTI founder Imran Khan. The convoy is scheduled to move towards Kohat next.

Afridi reached Lakki Marwat by helicopter before launching the march from Gandi Chowk. PTI leaders, including Junaid Akbar, joined the procession.

Afridi Says March Is a Fight for the Province

Addressing participants at Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk near the Bannu-Karak border, Afridi described the protest as a struggle for the people of Pakistan.

He said the current protest was a “Test match” that could become a “T20 match” within two days.

The chief minister said he had no weapons and only relied on public support. He called for Imran Khan to return to political leadership.

Mohsin Naqvi Questions Helicopter Use

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi questioned Afridi’s use of a helicopter to travel from Peshawar to Lakki Marwat.

Naqvi shared a video of the journey on X and said the trip must have been for official work, possibly related to the security situation or counterterrorism efforts. His remarks did not establish whether the helicopter was officially authorized for the journey.

The PTI launched the march after government-opposition talks ended without a breakthrough. The negotiations had focused in part on counterterrorism policy and other issues involving Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
