Rain, Thunderstorms Forecast in Several Parts of Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast isolated rain and thunderstorms in parts of northern and upper Pakistan, while mainly dry weather is expected across most of the country.

According to the latest PMD outlook, a westerly weather system is affecting the upper parts of the country. Weak moisture from the Bay of Bengal is also reaching the region.

Isolated rain and thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan until September 29. Similar conditions are expected over the upper catchments of the Ravi and Sutlej rivers.

Dry Weather Expected in Most Areas

Most parts of the country are expected to remain dry during the period. Hot and humid conditions are likely to continue in several plain and southern areas.

PMD’s latest weekly outlook says there is no significant weather activity expected from September 28 to October 4. The isolated rain and thunderstorm activity is mainly expected in the upper regions until September 29.

Weather conditions in Sindh are also expected to remain mainly dry. PMD’s Hyderabad weather data showed no rainfall across Sindh on September 28.

The weather department has advised residents in areas receiving thunderstorms to remain cautious during strong winds and lightning.
