State Bank Announces Adjusted Banking Hours for Ramadan Starting Today
In a recent update, the State Bank of Pakistan has released a statement outlining the modified banking hours during the holy month of Ramadan, effective starting today. The changes in operational timings aim to accommodate the religious practices and observances of the Muslim community.
According to the official announcement, banking services will be available to the public from Monday to Thursday, commencing at 9 AM and concluding at 3:30 PM. However, on Fridays, banking operations will be temporarily halted from 12 PM to 2:30 PM, allowing employees and customers to participate in Friday prayers.
Additionally, the Pakistan Stock Exchange has also revised its trading hours for the month of Ramadan. Market activities will take place from 9 AM to 2 PM, Monday through Thursday, and from 9 AM to 12 PM on Fridays.
It’s important to note that Dawoodi Bohra Islamic Banking will remain closed for public transactions on the first day of Ramadan (1445 Hijri) for the collection of Zakat. This decision is aligned with religious practices and aims to facilitate the community’s engagement in this important ritual.
While public transactions may be temporarily paused on specific dates, all banks, financial institutions, and microfinance banks assure that their employees will be present during regular office hours for work-related activities, excluding transactions with the public.
