TPL Trakker Ltd, a renowned provider of GPS vehicle tracking systems, is facing criticism in recent years regarding its policy on replacing installed devices with newer models, purportedly equipped with anti-jammer features.
A consumer based in Karachi raised concerns about being urged by TPL Trakker Ltd to replace their current device, installed precisely two years ago, with a newer model boasting an anti-jammer solution called Trakker-i. This feature is touted to thwart car theft attempts even in the presence of jammers. However, the consumer pointed out that in 2018, TPL had already replaced the device in another vehicle with a similar rationale. Therefore, they question the necessity for another replacement in 2022? Why not company installs the newer devices based ant jamming features? especially when faced with a bill of PKR 16,000 plus tax.
The consumer is now confronted with a dilemma: either comply with TPL’s demand for device replacement or assume full responsibility for any potential theft or robbery incidents. This scenario raises significant concerns in Pakistan, where individuals are already grappling with economic downturns. Consumers perceive such policies by corporations like TPL as a strategic means to extract additional funds, exacerbating financial strains on the populace.
