In a shocking incident, 14-year-old girl Rizwana was brutally assaulted by her employers, leading to severe injuries. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken immediate and strict notice of the matter and has directed Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi to provide the girl with the best possible medical treatment.
The Prime Minister emphasized that every effort must be made to save Rizwana’s life and restore her health. He further stressed the importance of ensuring justice for the oppressed girl, stating that no leniency should be given to the oppressors and law violators, regardless of their status.
The incident involves the wife of a civil judge in Islamabad, identified as Asim Hafeez, who allegedly subjected Rizwana to brutal torture, accusing her of stealing gold jewelry. The girl was later handed over to her parents, who took her to Sargodha for initial treatment before transferring her to Lahore for further medical attention.
Medical examinations revealed more than 15 torture marks on Rizwana’s face and body, indicating the severity of the abuse she endured. Her father filed a torture case in Islamabad, but he claims to have received threats. Moreover, the wife of the civil judge granted protective bail in the case, adding to the family’s distress.
The Prime Minister urged the police not to bow down to any pressure and to ensure strict implementation of the law. He emphasized that the society cannot tolerate such lawlessness and barbarity. Assuring the parents of the injured child, the Prime Minister vowed that justice would be served.
Justice Farooq Haider of Lahore High Court (LHC) heard the protective bail plea and granted the accused, the civil judge’s wife, protective bail until August 1.
