Schools in Punjab and KPK reopen from today

Universities, colleges, and schools in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are now reopened with the 50% attendance. The strict Standard Operating Procedures or SOPs related to Coronavirus will be implemented. The higher education department and provincial schools also issued a notification regarding the matter.

Earlier, National Command and Operation Centre or NCOC extended the closure of educational institutions till September 15. However, restrictions were extended in fifteen districts of Punjab that are Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Multan. Islamabad and districts of KP including Swabi, Swat, Abbottabad, Dera Ismail Khan, Peshawar, Malakand, Haripur, and Mansehra were also included.

In both provinces, classes will be held with 50% attendance. Management and teachers have been ordered to ensure the COVID-19 SOPs. As per the National Command and Operation Centre, it is essential for teaching, non-teaching staff, and students to receive the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine till September 15. The fully vaccinated students will be allowed to enter premises after October 15.
