Karachi is also expected to experience high temperatures between 36 to 38 degrees Celsius for the next three days, as per the Meteorological Department.
Moreover, the department has reported more than 12.5% excess rainfall in the country during April. Late April witnessed the highest rainfall of 191 millimeters, and the average temperature during the month was 0.26 degrees Celsius lower than usual.
Meanwhile, the field areas of Store district in Gilgit-Baltistan are currently experiencing ongoing rain, while the upper regions are under the grip of severe snowfall. This has resulted in a disruption of land communication, causing problems for local residents and tourists. Furthermore, record snowfall has also been reported in the higher regions of Ghizer.
This prediction by the Meteorological Department has raised concerns about the impact of rising temperatures on public health and agriculture. The department has advised citizens to take necessary precautions and stay indoors during peak hours to avoid heat exhaustion.
