Sindh Extends Section 144 for Another Month from August 1

The Sindh Home Department has announced a one-month extension of Section 144 across the province, with the new restrictions coming into effect from August 1.

An official notification released from Karachi stated the extension was implemented to help in maintaining law and order in the province of Sindh. The new restrictions will also continue to prohibit wall chalking, public rallies, protests and public displays of weapons.

The notification also says that only security guards who work for registered firms will be allowed to carry firearms while on duty. On the basis of Section 144, no one will be permitted to openly carry or display weapons in public.

Residents are being told to follow the rules and not engage in any activities that are considered a violation of the rules. Action may be taken under Section 144 against anyone observed to be in violation of its provisions during enforcement.

The provincial government has extended Section 144 as part of their measures to keep the public safe and maintain peace and security in the province of Sindh.
