The Sindh government budget for 2026 has proposed a significant increase in salaries and pensions for government employees, aiming to provide financial relief amid rising inflation in Pakistan. According to the latest reports, a 15% to 20% salary increase proposal has been introduced for employees across various grades.
Proposed Salary Increase for Government Employees in Sindh Budget 2026
Under the proposed plan:
- A 20% salary and pension increase may apply to employees with grades 1 to 16.
- Employees from Grade 17 to Grade 22 are likely to get a 15% salary and pension increase
- There is also a proposal for a wider pay scale range for Grade 1 to Grade 21 workers
The proposals come as part of the Sindh government’s attempts to realign public sector salaries to meet inflation and economic pressures.
Conveyance Allowance Also Expected to Increase
In addition to salary hikes, the Sindh budget proposal includes:
- A 50% increase in conveyance allowance for employees of Grades 1 to 16
The hike is likely to ease the costs of lower and mid-level government workers who are the most impacted by the increases in transportation and living expenses.
Final Approval Pending from Sindh Cabinet
Although the proposals have been included in the budget recommendations, they are not yet final. The salary increment, pension and allowances will be implemented only after approval by Sindh Cabinet.
Now all government employees in Sindh are waiting for the final approval as to whether the proposed increments in salary and pension will be approved officially or not.
The salary increment plan in the Sindh budget 2026 is a measure designed to alleviate the economic hardships of government employees. But the final decision is being made by the Sindh Cabinet and the staff are awaiting official confirmation.
