Sindh Orders 14-Day Independence Day Celebrations in All Public and Private Schools

The Sindh School Education and Literacy Department has issued a notification directing all public and private educational institutions across the province to celebrate Independence Day 2026 from August 1 to August 14.

Schools have been directed to hold a variety of activities to celebrate the occasion, the notification reads. These include speech competitions, painting contests, cultural programmes, national songs, quiz programmes, tree plantation programmes, national flag hoisting programmes and rallies for promoting patriotism among the school students.

The department has repeatedly stressed the need for schools to actively involve in the celebrations and ensure that the events align with the ethos of independence day in Pakistan.

In addition to organizing the activities, educational institutions have also been directed to document the celebrations. Schools must submit photographs, videos, and detailed reports of all Independence Day events to the School Education and Literacy Department for official record.

The program will seek to motivate students to study and become aware of Pakistan’s history, foster national unity and promote the spirit of independence through education and cultural events.

The Sindh Independence Day celebrations 2026 will be marked by various patriotic events in the first two weeks of August in schools across the province.
