Solar Panel Prices in Pakistan Drop Sharply – Further Decline Expected After Budget Stability

Solar panel prices in Pakistan have witnessed a sharp decline of up to Rs. 2,000 per unit, bringing relief to consumers looking for affordable renewable energy solutions. Market reports suggest that prices of different watt solar panels have started to come down after recent stability in the federal budget.

The downward trend is likely to persist, according to industry sources, with an extra cut of up to Rs. 7,000 in the next two weeks.

Lithium Battery Prices May Also Drop Significantly

In addition to solar panels, the cost of lithium batteries is also predicted to drop in Pakistan. Market analysts are anticipating a decline of up to Rs. 25,000 to Rs. Up to 200,000, depending on the battery size and brand.

The anticipated price correction follows earlier artificial price increases in the market.

Impact of Budget on Solar Market Prices

The uncertainty before the budget caused artificial price inflation, says the sources in the renewable energy sector. Importers and dealers reportedly increased:

  • Solar panel prices by Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 7,000
  • Battery prices by Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 200,000

The rumours of a rise in sales tax from 11% to 18% for solar systems have proved false, helping to calm market sentiment and leading to price cuts.

Solar Energy Demand in Pakistan Rising

The demand for solar energy systems, solar plates, lithium batteries and off-grid solar solutions in Pakistan is still increasing at an alarming rate, particularly because of high electricity prices and load shedding problems.

If that trend persists, then home and business solar may finally be more cost-effective for people around the country.
