State Bank of Pakistan Announces Enhanced Returns on Naya Pakistan Certificates

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has recently announced an increase in interest rates on Naya Pakistan Certificates (NPCs). This move aimed at attracting both domestic and overseas investors while providing an attractive investment avenue. Here’s a breakdown of the revised interest rates:

1. 3-Month Dollar Bonds:

The interest rate on 3-month Dollar Bonds has raised by 125 basis points, now standing at a competitive 8.25 percent.

2. 3-Month British Pound Bonds:

Investors in 3-month British Pound Bonds now enjoy a higher interest rate, which has been increased by 175 basis points, reaching 7.25 percent.

3. 3-Month Euro NPCs:

The interest rate for 3-month Euro Naya Pakistan Certificates has seen a substantial rise, going up by 225 basis points to 6.25 percent.

4. 3-Month Pakistani Rupee NPCs:

For those investing in 3-month Pakistani Rupee NPCs, the interest rate has surged by 6 percent, now offering an impressive 21 percent return.

5. 6-Month Dollar NPCs:

The interest rate on 6-month Dollar NPCs has adjusted, rising by 130 basis points, resulting in a rate of 8.5 percent.

6. 12-Month NPCs:

Investors in 12-month NPCs will also benefit from the rate revision, as the interest rate has increased by 150 basis points to a solid 9 percent.

Additionally, SBP has highlighted that overseas Pakistanis can invest a minimum of $1,000 in Dollar NPCs, opening up more opportunities for them to participate in these investment schemes.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that the interest rates for 3 and 5-year NPCs remain consistent at 8 and 8 percent, respectively.

These revised interest rates on Naya Pakistan Certificates aim to boost savings and investment in the country. However, it is providing a secure and attractive option for both local and international investors. The move aligns with SBP’s efforts to promote economic stability and encourage investment in Pakistan’s financial markets.
