Students aged 12 and above urged to get Covid19 vaccination

The government has launched a Covid19 vaccination campaign for school children. School students of age 12 years and above must get vaccination by November 30.

Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for National Health Services, addressed a media briefing. The campaign has targeted at school children aged 12 years and above.

The government has made it mandatory for children 12 years and older to be fully vaccinated by November 30. He informed that mobile teams would visit educational institutions and set Saturday as a special day for the purpose.

Similarly, the last week of October and November are assign for vaccination in institutes.

Dr Sultan urged parents not to hesitate to vaccinate their children as the approved vaccines are safe. It’s important to make sure their studies aren’t disrupt, he said.

Dr Sultan inform that the decision to allow schools to resume normal classes from Monday was carryout in view of the reduction in the number of cases.

About 63 million people in the country have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
