Suzuki Accident at Defence Imambargah: Mayor Karachi Visits Site, Ensures Medical Aid for Victims

A Suzuki vehicle accident at an Imambargah on Saba Avenue in Defence Phase 6 sparked a major response from city authorities on Friday as Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab visited both the accident site and injured victims at hospital.

During the visit to the incident location, the mayor was accompanied by Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan and DIG South Asad Raza, officials said. The officials examined the situation and discussed the security arrangements in the area.

The accident is being investigated comprehensively and transparently from all angles to find out the cause of the accident, said Murtaza Wahab, the mayor. He confirmed that the Suzuki driver involved in the incident has been arrested and the vehicle has been taken into custody for further investigation.



He added that all injured people are being given the best care possible and the government will cover the medical costs of the victims.

The mayor also said that security has been put on high alert for the month of Muharram in the city, particularly at religious institutions. He directed DIG South to further bolster security at Imambargah and take every possible precaution to ensure that no untoward event takes place in the area.

Later, Mayor Karachi visited Jinnah Hospital with senior police officials who enquired about the injured and ensured that proper medical facilities were being provided.

The authorities have reaffirmed their duty to uphold the law, safeguard public security and promptly respond to emergencies.
