President Dr. Arif Alvi on Friday sought the help of religious scholars to reduce the ongoing tense due to TLP protest.
Situation in the country is worsening as protests of the banned Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) disrupted life in several cities of Punjab.
The President said this in a consultative meeting with a delegation of Ahl-e-Sunnat wal Jamaat scholars. It was led by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri at the Presidency here. .
A consultative meeting in the Presidency of the National Security Committee unanimously decided to protect the sovereignty of the state. ?The banned organization TLP is not allowed to challenge its writ in any way.
Addressing the religious leaders, President Alvi said that the scholars have always stood by the state in difficult times. They have always played an important role in providing moral and religious guidance to the people.
The meeting considered various options for dealing with the current situation peacefully and called for resolving the issue through dialogue.
